A TUNA or Tansurethral needle ablation is an in office procedure that uses low-level radiofrequency through a set of needles that burn away the inner parts of the prostate to improve urinary flow and symptoms of an enlarged prostate. Side effects have been reported to be minimal in comparison to conventional surgery. Incontinence and impotence are not generally associated with this procedure. Patients will be required to wear a catheter for a few days following this procedure.
